Michael Anthony Torres Monge, or more commonly known by his stage name, Myke Towers, is a renowned composer and Puerto Rican singer, originally from Río Piedras, San Juan in Puerto Rico; he was born on January 15, 1994, and at the age of 30, he established himself in the music industry of his country as one of the most influential and important.
Since his beginnings Myke Towers managed to differentiate himself from the rest of the artists by his unique style, flow, lyrics, and voice, which allowed him to gradually climb the ranks until he became the world-renowned artist he is today. His first songs were released on the famous digital platform SoundCloud, where hundreds of important artists today also took their first steps in this musical world.

Despite Myke Towers having consecrated himself as an international artist thanks to his great musical successes over the past few years, the artist’s family life and youth have been kept private, as he has not provided more details about his family or childhood in various interviews, except that from a young age he always demonstrated a great interest in music, which motivated him to fight for his dream of becoming a great professional singer and representing his country.
Myke Towers Begins in Music
The year 2013 marked a before and after in the life of Michael Anthony Torres Monge, as this year, with the help of Young Kingz Entertainment, he took his first steps in what would become a successful music career. Later, in 2014, he uploaded his first song to SoundCloud, titled ‘La nueva droga’, a song that managed to obtain a strong impact on the previously mentioned digital platform.
That same year, he managed to release several songs such as ‘Dia de cobro’, ‘Por mí’, and ‘Es normal’, which gradually led him to the main focus of attention thanks to his good rhythms, rhymes, and distinctive flow.
Origin of His Stage Name
As we have mentioned earlier, Myke Towers took his first steps in music by uploading his debut songs to the digital platform SoundCloud, where he managed to gain some fame and acceptance in his native country, Puerto Rico. In his beginnings, the stage name of the Puerto Rican singer was ‘Mike’ but later decided to modify it to ‘Myke’ in order to join the letters ‘Y’ and ‘K’, which mean Young Kingz. As the artist himself affirms, he decided to make this modification in 2017 as a way of paying homage to the musical movement that has accompanied him since his beginnings, known as ‘Young Kingz’ or ‘Reyes Jóvenes’.
Going into more detail, the name Myke Towers in itself, is a shortening of his first name, “Michael”, which in English and shortened would be “Mike”, and “Towers” comes from the translation of his surname “Torres” to English, and thus is how the Myke Towers we know today was born.
Myke Towers’ Career
The style of the renowned Puerto Rican singer has positioned him as one of the best in the urban genre, specializing mainly in reggaeton, rap, and trap. Since his beginnings in 2013, he has not stopped climbing the ranks, achieving incredible collaborations with world-renowned artists such as Bad Bunny, Ozuna, Farruko, Arcángel, among many others, and at the same time, breaking records and positioning his songs among the most listened to of the moment in the world.
Myke Towers from 2016 to 2018
During the year 2016, the singer Myke Towers debuted by releasing his first mixtape titled ‘El final del principio’, which managed to reach first place on the iTunes list, but that was not all, as it also reached the twelfth position on the ‘Latin Rhythm Albums’.
This disc managed to position and expose the new talent and promise of the Puerto Rican Myke Towers, thanks to an excellent work of his entire team, where the record label G Starr Entertainment played an important role in his development.
It is worth noting that from the mixtape ‘El final del principio’ stand out songs such as “Dia de cobro”, “La letra”, “Dejate Ver”, “Dinero en mano”, and “No sabe nada”, which had a great impact in their time on digital platforms.
Myke Towers from 2018 to the present
Myke Towers in 2018 continued to deliver good music to his audience, leaving incredible songs such as “Que tú sabes de esto”, “Perder el tiempo”, and “Producto”. Later, in 2019, he released the song “Si se da” with which he also managed to get a remix and the collaboration of great artists such as Farruko, Arcangel, Sech, and Zion.
During 2019, Myke Towers managed to stay in the top 20 of the most sold songs in Spain, thanks to the song titled “La Playa”, but that was not all, as he also participated in songs such as “Estamos arriba” alongside Bad Bunny and in “Dollar” with Becky G.
At the beginning of 2020, he released the remix of “La Playa” alongside the Colombian artist Maluma and the Puerto Rican singer Farruko, which was a huge success; months later, he released a second album and his first studio album, titled “Easy Money Baby”, which was in honor of his newborn son, Shawn Torres; it is worth noting that this album managed to stay in the Top Latin Albums for 83 consecutive weeks.
