Digital Transformation will be the focus of a regional debate in Santo Domingo, where specialists will analyze how artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and regulatory changes are increasing risks for companies and financial entities.
Digital Transformation and CIFA-SELATCA Agenda
The conversation will take place during the XIX International Congress of Finance and Auditing (CIFA) and the XXIV Latin American Seminar of Accountants and Auditors (SELATCA), which will be held from July 30 to August 2 at the Santo Domingo Bay Convention Resort & Casino, in Boca Chica. The event is organized by BDO Business School and the Association of Multiple Banks of the Dominican Republic (ABA).
According to the organizers, the programming will focus on how digital transformation is reconfiguring auditing, risk management, and compliance. It will also address international volatility, advanced analytics, sustainability, and new corporate governance standards.
Digital Risks Under Pressure
In recent years, the region has seen an increase in cyber attacks, digital fraud, and dependence on automated systems. In this context, digital transformation requires strengthening internal controls, continuous monitoring, and incident response capabilities.
The program will include presentations on continuous auditing, applied artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, integrated risk management, forensic auditing, corporate ethics, transparency, and anti-money laundering prevention.
“We will analyze from the impact of global shocks and the evolution of the regulatory environment, to the opportunities and challenges presented by artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, sustainability, and new corporate governance standards,” ABA and BDO reported.
The Weight of Digital Transformation in Finance
Digital transformation not only accelerates processes: it also changes the way faults are detected, risks are evaluated, and decisions are made. For banks, auditors, and regulators, the challenge is no longer just adopting technology, but proving that technology works with traceability, control, and security.
That’s why CIFA-SELATCA will bring together executives, supervisors, auditors, compliance officers, accountants, and consultants. The organizers stated that the event has consolidated, over more than two decades, as a professional updating space with an average attendance of around 300 people per edition.
What the Encounter Seeks to Leave
- Strengthen the response to emerging risks.
- Update criteria on compliance and corporate governance.
- Share experiences on technology, auditing, and sustainability.
- Encourage a more critical reading of digital transformation in the financial sector.
In a scenario of regulatory changes, technological pressure, and increased exposure to digital threats, digital transformation has become a business, supervision, and reputation issue. That will be the focus of the debate in Santo Domingo, where digital transformation will be measured again against its costs, opportunities, and risks.
For banking, auditing, and compliance, digital transformation is no longer a distant trend: it is the new working framework that will define how information is protected, how risk is controlled, and how institutional trust is maintained.
