President Luis Abinader and Vice President Raquel Peña chaired the first Cabinet meeting held in San José de Ocoa, where the Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza, reported that public investment executed in the province amounts to RD$6.726 million, a 94 % increase compared to the previous period.
Priority works and infrastructure
The projects include the construction of the Rancho Arriba–Nizao road, the resurfacing of the El Pinar de Ocoa road, and the Arroyo Palma–Bello Sobrante road. Gavion walls of the Nizao River in the Rancho Arriba stretch were also rehabilitated, and the San José de Ocoa–Sabana Larga Multiple Aqueduct was started, improving access to drinking water.
Health, education and sport
In the health sector, the emergency room will be expanded and the Doctor Guarionex Alcántara Municipal Hospital will be renovated. The province will have the construction of the Central Park and the Municipal Palace of El Pinar, in addition to paving streets and neighborhood roads. In education, the William Radhamés Encarnación Educational Center will be roofed, while in sport the softball stadium will be renovated and the court of Liceo Ángel Emilio Casado will be roofed.
Security, electrification and community services
The projects also include the electrification of homes using solar panels in several communities, the delivery of a police station to Rancho Arriba, and the construction of municipal funeral homes. Paliza highlighted that the investment aims to turn economic growth into infrastructure improvements, better public services, and greater opportunities for the province’s families.
