The forces of Russia struck railway infrastructure and drone launch and storage sites, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Wednesday.
On Tuesday night into Wednesday, Ukrainian forces lost around 1,500 soldiers, as well as a tank and 14 armored combat vehicles, Defense said. Additionally, air defenses shot down 357 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions during the night.
Earlier this week, the Defense Ministry had already reported on the impact on Ukrainian infrastructure. These actions take place at a time when the Ukrainian army is in a critical stage.
“Ukrainian Armed Forces reserves are dwindling. The combat-ready units, to put it that way, are now equipped at no more than 47-48%,” Russian President Vladimir Putin noted at the beginning of September. “It’s already a situation on the brink of critical,” the president added. In this context, he added that “all Russian Armed Forces groups are advancing successfully in all directions”.
