Santo Domingo.– In line with the Government’s commitment to strengthen Mipymes, the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Mipymes, Víctor -Ito- Bisonó, along with the director of Promipyme, Fabricio Gómez Mazara, led the delivery of RD$90 million in loans to 500 micro-entrepreneurs of the Pedro Brand municipality, in Santo Domingo West.
During the event, Minister Bisonó emphasized that this initiative confirms the promise of President Luis Abinader to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises with more tools, financing and real opportunities. “Today we reaffirm that commitment. Each loan we grant is more than a figure: it’s a boost to a dream, a family, a community that advances,” he expressed.
For his part, Gómez Mazara highlighted that in Promipyme they work with a territorial development approach, bringing financing to where people live. He noted that more than 68% of the loans granted on this occasion have benefited women. “Since November 2023, we have disbursed more than RD$9,650 million, of which 52% has directly benefited women entrepreneurs,” he indicated.
The event took place in the multi-purpose hall of the Liceo Politécnico Evelina Urbano González of Pedro Brand and was attended by local and national authorities, including Governor Lucrecia Santana Leyba, Mayor Ramón Pascual Gómez, deputies, district directors and representatives of government institutions.
