Maimón, Monseñor Nouel.– The CoopMaimón Cooperative closed the year 2024 with a notable financial and institutional performance, as presented at its XXXIV Ordinary General Assembly and XXVII by Delegates, recently held in the province of Monseñor Nouel.
During the event, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, David Polanco, highlighted a 22 % growth in total assets, which rose from RD$26,244 million to RD$32,038 million, as well as an increase in the loan portfolio that reached RD$28,345 million.
Likewise, a 25 % increase in members’ contributions was reported, amounting to RD$12,362 million. Surpluses exceeded RD$4,000 million, consolidating CoopMaimón as one of the cooperative institutions with the greatest financial strength in the country.
In his remarks, Polanco called for unity of the Dominican cooperative movement to face current economic and social challenges, marked by geopolitical instability, rising fuel prices, and fluctuations in international markets. “Only with joint work and shared vision can we continue generating development in our communities,” he said.
He also announced new projects focused on sustainability, including financing for agricultural mechanization, promotion of renewable energies, and a credit scheme aimed at productive sectors.
The event featured participation from delegates, cooperative leaders, and sector authorities, who positively evaluated the entity’s performance and its commitment to socially‑driven innovation.
CoopMaimón reaffirmed its commitment to local economic development, financial inclusion, and the consolidation of the cooperative model as a driver of national transformation.
