Upon leaving the Eucharist for the city’s anniversary, Carolina Mejía avoided entering electoral debates and chose to focus her speech on the capital’s celebration. Nevertheless, she made clear that the PRM has maintained its organic structure through conventions, assemblies, and internal activities.
“We are celebrating the city,” the official said, in an intervention that aimed to emphasize governance over campaigning. But the political message was present: the leader affirmed that the organization has remained cohesive and that the internal process has not halted party activity.

The mayor highlighted the impact of projects such as the Malecón Deportivo and the Paseo 30 de Mayo, venues that served as sites for competitions of the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo. She also celebrated the gold medals won by the women’s and men’s basketball teams in those facilities.
Furthermore, she maintained that the capital is moving toward a more orderly city, although she admitted that challenges remain in accessibility, safety, and inclusion. In education and vocational training, she cited the Centro Futuro program, where more than 1,300 students have received technical-professional training.
