Among the most visible results of Yanina Torres‘ administration is the Convention of Twin Cities between Puerto Plata and New Orleans, a cooperation tool that seeks to expand cultural, tourist, and institutional exchange. Also, a closer relationship with the New Orleans Jazz Museum was promoted, strengthened with the delivery of a Taimáscaro as a symbol of Dominican identity.
The consular mission also placed the promotion of the country brand in the spotlight. In this line, two murals on Dominican roots and symbols were developed, as well as the Dominican Night of Rum and Tobacco, aimed at projecting national products and opening commercial contacts. This type of initiative usually works as low-cost cultural diplomacy with high impact, because it combines identity, visibility, and business.

One of the most practical points of the balance was the incorporation of the service of apostille of notarial acts, which reduces procedures and displacements. After concluding her functions in New Orleans, she will assume the Consulate General in Atlanta, where she will be the first holder of that new consular mission approved by the United States.
