Santo Domingo.- During the celebration of World Breastfeeding Week, from August 1 to 7 every year, BHD Bank has inaugurated a new space dedicated to breastfeeding within its facilities at the Contact Center.
The opening ceremony of this modern breastfeeding room was attended by Martha Peralta, senior vice president of Talent Management and Luis Lembert, general manager of BHD Bank, who welcomed this new resource for breastfeeding mothers with enthusiasm.
Since 2014, BHD Bank has been among the pioneering private companies in the Dominican Republic to offer a certified breastfeeding room as “Breastfeeding-Friendly Family Room” by the Ministry of Public Health and the Lactation League in its main office. This achievement reflects the bank’s commitment to the BHD Women’s Gender Strategy, which promotes a culture of social responsibility centered on equality and gender equity practices.
“These breastfeeding rooms represent our tangible commitment to the personal and professional well-being of our female colleagues, as part of our development of a culture of social responsibility,” noted Martha Peralta, senior vice president of Talent Management at BHD Bank, highlighting the focus on equality and gender equity.
In addition, BHD Bank extends its support to breastfeeding and motherhood outside the company. In March 2023, it inaugurated the first municipal breastfeeding room in collaboration with the National District Mayor’s Office, located in the central office of the municipality, and an additional room in the Colonial City. These spaces, equipped by the bank, aim to facilitate breastfeeding in optimal conditions.
