The Popular Pension Funds Administrator, AFP Popular, and the National Council of the Aging Person, CONAPE, have signed an institutional cooperation agreement to improve the quality of life of older adults in the Dominican Republic. This agreement is part of the initiative "Aging with Dignity" by AFP Popular, which aims to accompany and provide integral well-being to this population sector. The signing of this agreement reinforces the commitment of both institutions to building a more inclusive society and the well-being of older adults.
Strengthening Public Policies
The agreement will allow both institutions to join technical and operational efforts to develop joint initiatives that respond to the real needs of older adults, promoting active, dignified, and healthy aging. This includes the joint execution of actions to strengthen public policies directed at this population sector.
Joint Effort in Favor of Older Adults
The signing of this agreement continues a collaboration agenda that both entities have been developing in favor of older adults. Among the joint initiatives carried out to date include the inauguration of the Clemente Pérez Day Center, in Pedernales, and the delivery of fortified medicines and food to support their well-being and health.
Commitment to Social Responsibility
The executive vice president and general manager of the pension administrator, Luis J. Jiménez, highlighted that "in AFP Popular we have assumed for years the commitment to contribute to the well-being and dignity of older adults, convinced that a more solidary society is built by taking care of those who have contributed so much to the country".
