Developed by Intrant with international support, the Traffic Plan analyzes congestion, mobility patterns, critical nodes and fragmentation of public transportation. For the first time, it offers a metropolitan vision with short, medium and long-term measures. Ascencion emphasized the need for coordinated governance between institutions to turn it into sustainable actions.
Concrete advances and road works in the Traffic Plan
Among the progress, interventions are prioritized in congestion points, route coordination and travel time reduction. Progress is made in the operational integration of the metro, teleféricos, OMSA and feeder routes, towards an ordered and efficient system. The government of Luis Abinader invests in works such as the extension of the Ecological Avenue, expansion of Rafael Tomás Fernández Domínguez, new Freddy Beras Goico, elevated Andrés Boca Chica and circumferences in Los Alcarrizos and Santo Domingo.

Experts in road mobility agree that the Traffic Plan addresses chronic fragmentations, similar to successful models in cities like Bogotá or Mexico. Ascencion, former Minister of Public Works, received recognition from Codia for his ethics and contributions.
