Palworld, PS5 Pro, Ghost of Yōtei and more

· 3 min de lectura

The most anticipated PlayStation event presented the reveal of the PS5 Pro. Despite Sony offering certain details about this new console, including its price, it lacked depth in the essential: games. To remedy this omission, Sony released a new State of Play highlighting the future titles that will arrive on PS5 and PS VR2.

The State of Play in September began with a relevant news from Team Asobi, announcing that a DLC of Astro Bot will be available at the end of this year at no additional cost. This platform game for PS5 has received a positive reception and is counted among the great debuts of PlayStation.

One of the great surprises of the State of Play was Palworld, the survival game known as “Pokémon with guns”, which was released today for PS5. This announcement is notable since Nintendo and Pokémon Company had recently sued its creators. However, that did not stop Pocketpair from launching its anticipated version for Sony’s console.

In addition to Palworld, Sony announced the arrival on PS5 of two PSOne classics very soon. Lunar Remastered Collection brings together two RPGs from Game Arts: Lunar Silver Star Story Complete and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue. Unlike modern versions of this genre popularized by Square Enix, Lunar Remastered preserves a 2D style in characters and scenarios. The game will be available on PS4 and PS5 in spring 2025.

Remasterizaciones and classic PlayStation games

The celebration of the 30th anniversary of PlayStation left its mark on the State of Play. Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1-2 Remastered, one of the iconic series that debuted on PSOne, will receive a remasterization by Aspyr and Crystal Dynamics. This package will include both games with improved graphics and gameplay and will be available this year for PS5 and PS4.

Another surprising revelation was Fantasian Neo Dimension, the RPG by Hironobu Sakaguchi, developed with handmade dioramas. After its period of exclusivity with Apple Arcade, the title of Mistwalker will arrive on other platforms. The creator of Final Fantasy confirmed that the game will be available for PS4 and PS5 on December 5, 2024.

Next games that will arrive on PS5

The first moments of the State of Play were focused on remasterizations, AA games, or downloadable content for existing titles, but the event also highlighted some important releases on the horizon. The first is Dragon Age: The Veilguard, the RPG by BioWare and EA that will be released at the end of October and was presented with a gameplay trailer.

On the other hand, Capcom showed a preview of Monster Hunter Wilds that combines gameplay with real-time cinematics. The developers also took the opportunity to announce the release date and detail the roadmap for all the downloadable content that will follow. Monster Hunter Wilds will be available on February 28, 2025.

Horizon also starred in its moment during the event. On the one hand, Lego Horizon Adventures revealed its release date and the bonuses for those who reserve the game in advance. On the other hand, Horizon Zero Dawn will receive a remastered version for PS5 and PC, with last-generation graphics, new animations, and special effects, offering a more realistic Alloy (and less “chubby”).

Ghost of Yōtei: the star of the State of Play

After revealing the first games optimized for PS5 Pro, Sony concluded the State of Play in September with a great finale. Ghost of Yōtei, the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, was officially presented with a spectacular teaser that combines cinematics with real gameplay.

According to the synopsis, in 1603, a new Ghost named Atsu begins a journey through the lands around Mount Yōtei, a space filled with vast meadows, snowy tundras, and unsuspected threats. The title transcends 300 years after the events in Ghost of Tsushima and focuses on a new masked hero.

Ghost of Yōtei is being developed exclusively for PS5 and will be released sometime in 2025.
