The Alfa, the king of dembow, announced that he has stopped performing concerts that generated him millionaire incomes to dedicate his life to God. The revelation came during an interview at a gym, where the interpreter explained his decision and exhorted the youth to take care of themselves physically and mentally.
The decision to retire from music
The artist confirmed that, during the peak of his career, he earned between 250,000 and 300,000 dollars per presentation. “I abandoned everything to follow God. I earned 300,000 dollars per show and I renounced that”, he stated, leaving clear his current position. According to The Alfa, music and spectacle were no longer his priority and he opted to focus on his spiritual life.
A call to Dominican youth
The Alfa used the platform to send a direct message to the young people. “There is nothing better than following Jesus Christ, but also put yourself in shape, take care of yourself and take care of your health”, he expressed. The singer emphasized the importance of moving away from the streets and adopting a healthier lifestyle.
Reflections on the urban music industry
During the interview, The Alfa commented on the changes that have lived the urban music industry and the situation that many young people face today. He explained that fame and financial success can be ephemeral and that spirituality and health are values that are more important to him now.
Impact on The Alfa’s career
The renunciation of high-paying shows has left the Dominican dembow scene without one of its main exponents. The international audience, accustomed to The Alfa’s productions, could be affected by the absence of his new recordings and live performances.
