United States.- As expected, the Dominican Freddy Peralta was named by the Brewers to take the mound in Game 1 of the National League Division Series, to be played on Saturday at 2:08 p.m. ET at American Family Field.
The right-hander comes from the best regular season of his career, in which he served as the ace of the team with the best record in baseball.
The 29-year-old pitcher led the Old Circuit with 17 wins and recorded his third consecutive campaign with at least 200 strikeouts (204), and also finished with the best ERA of his eight-year MLB career, 2.70.
All this, leading the Milwaukee pitching staff with 33 starts and 176.2 innings, giving his team a much-needed stability in a starting rotation that at some point in the year had up to seven pitchers on the injured list.
With Peralta at the top of the rotation, the Brewers will seek to advance to the Championship Series for the first time since 2018 and fourth time in their history.
