In the Las Caobas sector, in the north zone of Santo Domingo Oeste, the Central Investigation Directorate (DICRIM) carried out a tracking operation that ended with the loss of Yonathan’s life, also known as “Chuky” or “Chigua”. The operation, initiated by the National Police, was looking for a citizen with a penal record and a presumed link to several criminal acts.
Development of the operation
According to the preliminary version of the authorities, the DICRIM agents were performing location work when they tried to approach Yonathan. During that attempt, a projectile exchange occurred, leaving the man seriously injured, who died shortly after the incident.
At the scene of the events, the Public Ministry and the Scientific Police were present, initiating the collection of evidence and documentation for the investigative process. The investigation remains open to clarify the causes and the conduct of the agents during the operation.

The communicator Ramón Tolentino, through his networks, stated that the individual was pointed out by the police for an “extensive delinquent history”.
