Senator Omar Fernández, from the People’s Force, spoke out in an interview with N Digital about the possibility of running as a presidential candidate in the 2028 elections. In his words, it’s not about evaluating his own potential, but rather leaving the judgment to the citizens.
The legislator’s stance
When questioned about a potential candidacy, Fernández clarified that he doesn’t want to determine if he is “ready to head a presidential ballot”. “I have been preparing because I understand the importance of helping the People’s Force to have a good performance for the benefit of the Dominican Republic”, he explained. He maintained that analyzing his possibilities from an individual perspective was “pretentious”.
Commitment to communication
The senator emphasized that his priority is to continue preparing and working to clearly transmit his proposals. “For me, it’s important that people don’t have doubts about what my ideas are, how I think this country can function better and what the country that comes is”, he stated. The clarity in his vision presents itself as a pillar for his future political action.
Disposition to the challenge
Regardless of the political scenario, Fernández concluded that he is willing to assume the challenge that may befall him. “That’s why I feel ready for the challenge that may befall me in 2028”, he asserted.
