The National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) announced a national mobilization aimed at claiming respect for citizen guarantees, following the XIII National Assembly of the organization, held with the participation of around 300 delegates from different areas of the country.

Decisions of the assembly

During the assembly, the delegates approved resolutions addressing the cost of living and formulated proposals on the attention and functioning of the healthcare system. They also expressed concerns about the actions of authorities, especially those of security agencies, although no specific cases were identified.

Objective of the mobilization

The CNDH explained that the day, which will be held nationwide, aims to promote respect for citizen guarantees. The entity emphasized that the mobilization is framed under the slogan “For social power and a dignified social security” and is part of the actions agreed upon at the conclusion of the assembly.

Development and logistics

Up to the present date, the CNDH has not revealed the date, the locations of concentration, or the route of the mobilization. The delegates established the start of the action as part of the decisions taken during the XIII National Assembly, leaving the authorities and the civil society to organize the local meetings.

Relevance to Dominican society

The call comes at a time of growing concern about the protection of fundamental rights in the country. By focusing on the guarantee of citizen freedoms, the CNDH seeks to promote a collective response that influences public policy and institutional behavior.
