In Santo Domingo, the Institute of National Formation and Training of the Magisterium (INAFOCAM) and the Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLA) sealed a key agreement to boost technological interoperability in educational processes. This alliance aims to optimize educational evaluation and research through digital tools that integrate institutional systems and improve data management.

The ITLA rector, Ing. Jimmy Rosario Bernard, and the INAFOCAM executive director, Siullin Joa León, led the signing. Both highlighted how this technological interoperability consolidates capabilities for evidence-based decisions, aligned with national educational modernization goals.

UltiCabinet platform as central axis

The agreement includes the UltiCabinet platform, designed to organize and safeguard technical documentation in educational evaluation and research projects. This tool ensures total traceability, facilitating the monitoring and systematization of critical educational data.

  • Complete platform enablement in document flows.
  • Specialized training for ITLA personnel.
  • Integration with existing digital repositories.

Technical components and accompaniment

In addition to the implementation, the agreement includes ongoing technical support, impact tracking, and result evaluation. It measures how technological interoperability accelerates report production and strengthens public educational policies. This includes training in document management and digital tools, driving institutional transformation.

Context and relevance in the Dominican education system

INAFOCAM, founded in 2000, leads teacher training in the Dominican Republic, training thousands of teachers annually to elevate educational quality. The ITLA, a pioneer in technical careers since 2007, has graduated over 20,000 professionals in digital areas, according to institutional data verified. This collaboration responds to persistent challenges: the Ministry of Education reports that only 60% of evaluative processes use integrated digital systems, generating inefficiencies in management.

Education experts highlight that technological interoperability reduces processing times by 40%, according to regional UNESCO studies on digital transformation in Latin America. “This alliance positions the Dominican Republic as a reference in educational innovation”, an analyst in the sector said during recent ITLA events.

Both entities reaffirm their role in public modernization. Technological interoperability not only optimizes educational evaluation and research, but also generates evidence for inclusive policies, benefiting teachers and students across the country.
