In the International Book Fair Santo Domingo, which concludes on October 4, the technological sector stands out with flight simulators, virtual races, and robotizations that accompany the literary programming.
Flight Simulators in the Plaza of Culture
The Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC) and the Superior Academy of Aeronautical Sciences offer two simulators that allow the public to experience the piloting of an aircraft, interact with the controls, and try to achieve a safe landing. These installations, normally used in pilot training, serve a divulgative function during the fair.
Entertainment and Training in the Technological Academy
The Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLA) combines fun and learning. With a driving simulator, visitors can compete in a vehicle racing competition and, in addition, try video games developed by students of the institution.
Robotics and NASA at the Fair
“La Cacata,” robot that participated in a NASA competition, is exhibited along with other student robotics projects. This exhibition allows the public to know the creativity and ingenuity of Dominican students in the technological field.
A Comprehensive Programming Beyond Literature
The present edition brings together over 750 activities, with more than 70 international writers, 32 international publishers, 21 national publishers, and 44 Dominican bookstores. In addition to literature, the fair includes film, music, theater, and visual arts.
