Switzerland.-Dominican athlete Marileidy Paulino finished fourth on Wednesday in the final of the 200m flat at the Diamond League 2025, held in Switzerland, in a competition marked by intensity and a high level of participation from the athletes.
With a time of 22.43 seconds, Paulino failed to surpass American Brittany Brown, who took first place after stopping the clock at 22.23 seconds.
The second place went to Nigerian Favour Ofili, who crossed the finish line with 22.31 seconds, while Ivorian Marie-Josée Ta Lou-Smith took third place with a time of 22.37 seconds.
Marileidy had previously faced six runners who participated in the 200m final at the Paris Olympics, including American Brittany Brown (bronze), British Dina Asher-Smith and Daryll Neita (fourth and fifth), and Nigerian Favour Ofili (seventh). Swiss Léonie Pointet and Ivorian Marie-Josée Ta Lou-Smith, representing Côte d’Ivoire, also competed. Marie-Josée Ta Lou-Smith did not start in heat one in Paris, France.
The race in Switzerland became a new chapter in this elite women’s competition, with prominent names from the Olympic and World circuit.
