New national leadership of the PRM: Journalist Roselvis Vargas previewed the main names that would make up the leadership of the ruling party, in a proposal to be brought this Sunday to the National Assembly of Delegates for ratification.
According to what Vargas revealed on El Sol de la Tarde, the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, would take over the party as president, while Deligne Ascensión would occupy the executive vice presidency. The proposal also includes Juan Garrigó as secretary general and Sigmund Freund as organization secretary.
The new national leadership of the PRM emerges at a key moment for the organization, which seeks to organize its internal structure and project a more defined line of command in the face of upcoming political and electoral challenges. In governing parties, this type of realignment usually has an impact on both territorial coordination and strategic decision-making.

She also recalled that Garrigó was director of the PRM senators’ bloc between 2016 and 2020, participated in alliance commissions for the 2020 and 2024 elections, and since 2020 has held functions in the vice ministry of Social and Community Management.
