Francisco Javier García, presidential hopeful for the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), confirmed that his US tour was a resounding success, fulfilling the objective of presenting concrete proposals to the diaspora and US tour that strengthens his 2028 project. The visit, carried out in constituency 1 of the United States, included meetings with various sectors of the Dominican community and the swearing-in of hundreds of supporters to his campaign.

In an interview in New York, García detailed the multiple meetings of his US tour, including lunches with the Association of Dominican Supermarket Owners, meetings with PLD leadership, business owners, activists, and former party leaders. During his US tour, he presented his government plan for the 2028-2032 period, highlighting the creation of the Guarantee Fund for Dominicans Abroad with an initial amount of RD$20 billion.
This fund, resulting from the US tour, will offer credit to Dominicans who want to invest in the Dominican Republic, guaranteeing the loan with state backing without the need to “give away” the money. In addition, García announced the opening of business offices in every US state, focused on exporting Dominican products, attracting investments, and promoting the tourism industry.

The US tour also included the proposal to allocate funds raised by embassies and consulates for the assistance of Dominicans abroad, instead of sending them to the State’s Single Account. García emphasized that the diaspora is vital to the Dominican economy, since without remittances the country would have collapsed.

During his US tour, García swore in hundreds of PLD leaders and members of the external sector in New York, Long Island, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Lawrence-MA, and Providence. Among the new supporters is José Fernández, former overseas deputy and former consul in New York, who resigned from the Fuerza del Progreso to return to the PLD.
García’s accompanying mission on his US tour included his wife Jeanis, Political Committee members Monchy Fadul and Robert de la Cruz, as well as Central Committee member Víctor Fadul, campaign manager Bienvenido Pérez, Ramón Rivas, Deivy Santana, Luis García, and Jaime Sánchez.
