In an event that redefines the future of local government, the Dominican Federation of Municipal Districts (FEDODIM) held its National Electoral Assembly with a historic quorum of 93 of the country’s district mayors. This massive turnout, which reached the historic quorum of 93, demonstrates the strength and unwavering commitment of municipal authorities to the institution. The election of new national and regional authorities was carried out under a solid consensus, exceeding the historic quorum of 93 to guarantee the legitimacy of the democratic process.
Lioncito José assumes the national presidency with the support of the historic quorum of 93
The Assembly elected Lioncito José, mayor of the Don Juan municipal district in Monte Plata province, as national president of FEDODIM for the 2026-2028 period. His election, backed by the historic quorum of 93, marks the beginning of a new stage of transparent and participatory management. Accompanying the president, Willy Céspedes will be general secretary and Máximo Soriano, treasurer, forming a leadership structure that operates with the backing of the historic quorum of 93 to drive the comprehensive development of the districts.
Additionally, the Assembly ratified Dr. Pedro Richardson as executive director, recognizing his track record in strengthening municipalism. This ratification, carried out with a historic quorum of 93, ensures continuity in the entity’s strategy. The new board of directors also includes vice presidents who are experts in key areas such as Citizen Security, Public Works, and Legislative Agenda, all elected with the backing of the historic quorum of 93 to guarantee efficient and decentralized management.
Expansion of the new national and regional board
The new national board is made up of specialized vice presidents: Ramón Ramírez (Public Administration Affairs), Fior Denis Tavárez Estrella (Tourism Affairs), Luis Felipe Fermín Almonte (Citizen Security), Mirtha Elena Pérez (Gender Affairs), Luis Alexander Rodríguez (Public Works), José del Jesús Tejeda Dume (Education), José Orlando López Martínez (Legislative Agenda), Gilberto Javier Garabitos Nova (Sports and Culture), Humberto Andrés Germosén Rodríguez (Health), and Ricky Ricardo Tejada Blanco (Environment). National subsecretaries such as Enmanuel Ramírez Espinosa and board members such as Freddy Zarzuela Cruz were also elected, consolidating a working team that operates with the historic quorum of 93 to strengthen institutionality.
Simultaneously, FEDODIM’s regional presidents for the 2026-2028 period were chosen: Isis Dayni Zorrilla (Yuma), Balbarín Pintel (Higuamo), Fidel de los Santos (Ozama), Tomás Contreras García (Valdesia), Venny Pérez (El Valle), Henrrys García (Enriquillo), Owandy Núñez Checo (Cibao Nordeste), Wadi Antonio Cabrera (Cibao Sur), Edgar Martínez (Cibao Norte), and Gabriel Rafael Santana (Cibao Noroeste). These regional leaders, elected with the backing of the historic quorum of 93, will guarantee the effective representation of all districts in national decision-making.

The disciplinary and advisory bodies were also formed: Stefany Natacha González will chair the Disciplinary Council, while Ramón de los Santos heads the Advisory Council.
