“Throughout its ten editions, the event has built a community that returns for the sailing conditions and the atmosphere generated around the marina: a weekend that invites sharing, enjoying and discovering Samaná from the sea”.-

Samaná, Dominican Republic.- Samaná Bay Spring Regatta returns from May 1 to 3, 2026 at Marina Puerto Bahía for a particularly significant edition: a decade bringing together national sailors and international guests in one of the region’s most emblematic bays. Endorsed by the Dominican Sailing Federation, the regatta opens its waters to the cruising sail and light sail categories, in a format that combines sport and community, with a destination experience designed to be lived both on and off the water.

The Bay of Samaná offers ideal conditions for sailing: consistent winds, protected waters and a geography that demands tactical reading on every departure. This balance turns the racecourse into a demanding yet safe setting for teams with varying levels of experience.

“The event has been consolidating as a meeting space for sailors, with exciting regattas and a very festive atmosphere”, says Ana Bancalari, marketing director of Marina Puerto Bahía.

The on‑land programming also takes center stage in 2026. On Saturday, May 2, a Regatta Village will be presented for the first time with a direct view of the racecourse, conceived as a meeting point for participants, guests and visitors. More than 12 artisanal boutiques will form a pop‑up market, accompanied by DJ poolside throughout the day at Ocean Club, integrating the nautical spirit with a proposal

lifestyle aligned with the destination.

At 5:00 p.m. the Après Sail begins, the transition moment between sea and land: a social space with dock games for regattists and the general public, accompanied by live music from Joseph Miller, where the close of the day on the water becomes a gathering and celebration.

On Sunday, after the second day of competition, the agenda culminates with the Awards Party at Ocean Club: official awards ceremony and a night of celebration hosted by DJ Richard Szpilsman, closing the weekend with the characteristic seal of Puerto Bahía.

“The regatta is more than what happens on the water; it’s how each moment of the weekend is lived”, adds Bancalari.

The 2026 edition has the backing of the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, Banreservas, AFP Reservas, Grupo CCN, Nautimar, Motomarina, Automarina, La Vinería Italiana,
