Chef Tita and the leap to the Chef’s Table Festival
Inés Páez Nin, known as Chef Tita, was invited to this festival inspired by the Netflix documentary series and scheduled from August 13 to 16 in Park City, Utah. The organization brought together 70 benchmark chefs and restaurants from around the world for this edition, according to information released by local media and the event’s own platform.
Among the announced names are figures such as Massimo Bottura, Francis Mallmann, Virgilio Martínez, Pía León, Rodolfo Guzmán, Dario Cecchini, and Nancy Silverton, which highlights the scale of the event. In this context, the presence of Chef Tita opens an unprecedented showcase for Dominican cuisine.
A proposal with a Dominican identity
Chef Tita will present an experience based on local ingredients, Caribbean biodiversity, and techniques associated with the New Dominican Cuisine. Her proposal seeks to show that the country’s cuisine has not only flavor, but also narrative, territory, and memory.
Chef Tita will also bring products grown by Dominican farmers linked to the IMA Foundation, an organization that promotes sustainable development in rural communities through gastronomy. This link between the kitchen and the countryside has been a constant in her work.
From Aguají to the global stage
From Aguají, her signature restaurant, Chef Tita has built a culinary line focused on rescuing native products and highlighting the country’s agricultural diversity. Her career has been recognized both inside and outside the Dominican Republic for turning cuisine into a tool for identity and development.
“Representing the Dominican Republic on a stage like Chef’s Table is an immense honor,” expressed Chef Tita, affirming that she will bring traditions, producers, and national history to every dish.
A milestone for Dominican gastronomy
The participation of Chef Tita is not limited to a symbolic presence. It also projects Dominican gastronomy into a circuit where trends, education, and international visibility converge. In addition to exclusive dinners, the festival will include masterclasses, conversations with chefs, and immersive experiences.
For Dominican cuisine, Chef Tita‘s appearance at the Chef’s Table Festival represents a validation of its growth and an opportunity for more people to identify the country as a culinary destination with its own voice. Chef Tita, Chef’s Table Festival, and Dominican gastronomy are thus united in an unprecedented event for the Dominican Republic.
