Miss World Dominican Republic robbed of $10,000 worth of jewelry in Puerto Rico

María Victoria Bayo, Miss World Dominican Republic, reported to the Puerto Rico Police on Wednesday that she was the victim of the theft of jewelry valued at ten thousand dollars at the airport in San Juan.

Bayo informed authorities that she placed a brown suitcase next to a chair in the waiting area of JetBlue Terminal A at the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, and upon returning, the suitcase had disappeared, according to initial information from the Puerto Rican police.

Inside the suitcase were the miss sash and a crown adorned with pearls of various colors valued at ten thousand dollars, according to Bayo.

The matter was referred to the Property Division of the Carolina Criminal Investigation Corps, an area bordering San Juan, for the relevant investigation.
