SAN CRISTÓBAL, Dominican Republic – In the framework of their commitment to social development and the well-being of vulnerable communities, Reid & Compañía S. A. and Autocamiones S. A. carried out a corporate volunteer day last Saturday, September 19, in the Dubó community, San Cristóbal province.
Through the Hábitat para la Humanidad Dominican Republic Project Pisos para Jugar, a team composed of 29 volunteers from both companies worked on replacing three earth floors with concrete floors, directly benefiting three local families. This action allows transforming homes into safer, healthier, more dignified, and more suitable spaces for the daily activities of their inhabitants.
Eradiating earth floors constitutes a crucial measure to improve the quality of life and reduce health risks, guaranteeing a more resistant and healthier housing environment.
This initiative is part of the strategic alliance that Reid & Compañía and Autocamiones maintain with the Hábitat para la Humanidad Dominican Republic organization since 2023. Through this ongoing social responsibility program, the alliance has accumulated a total of 89 interventions, served 17 homes, and mobilized 143 committed volunteers to achieve a positive impact in the country.
