Raúl Germán Bautista.– The community of Manoguayabo vibrated this weekend with the inauguration of the XXVIII edition of the Interstreets Softball Tournament 2025, in an event filled with emotion and a heartfelt tribute to two pillars of education and local development: the teachers Aquiles Terrero and Amantina Ramírez.
The ceremony, led by Jesús Pérez, president of the Manoguayabo Sports Association, highlighted the career of this exemplary couple, whose footprints have been marked on generations of students, athletes, and community leaders.
“Aquiles and Amantina not only taught in classrooms; they sowed values, forged character, and built hope in our town,” expressed with emotion Jesús Pérez, president of the Association.
The children of the honored couple, visibly moved, accompanied their parents during the event: Dary Terrero Ramírez, communicator and former teacher; Erubén Terrero, Physical Education teacher at MINERD; Yeimy and Indrid Terrero, both educators at SDO; and Dr. Elaine Terrero, dentist.
COMPETITION AND PARTICIPATION:
The tournament features six teams: Calle Los Carceleros, Calle Tomás Jaime, Calle Pérez, Villa Enreo, Residencial Antonia and Los Beisbolistas, with a total of 180 players.
The regular series includes 18 games. Then two semifinal series will be played best-of-five (3-2), culminating in a grand final also set as best-of-five.

The event gathered prominent personalities from the political, military, religious, and sports spheres, including:
1- Indhira de Jesús and Tobías Crespo, deputies of SDO and the D.N.
2- Generals Eduardo Escalante Alcántara, Jhonny Soto Abreu and José Isaías Santana Morillo.
3- Colonel Santana, director of the Manoguayabo police detachment
4- Eleodoro de la Rosa, president of the Manoguayabo Cooperative
5- Councilors José Radhamés González and Rubén Aybar
6- Entrepreneur Wáscar Rivera, former candidate for deputy
7- Sports leaders such as Alison Díaz, Leonardo Díaz and Antonio Guzmán
8- Community leaders and entrepreneurs, such as Pastor Rosaura Rodríguez, director of the GEMA Academy Genesis Fermín, and educator Luis Herrera Sánchez
With this sporting event, Manoguayabo not only reaffirms its commitment to sport, but also to the memory and gratitude toward those who have dedicated their lives to teaching, serving, and transforming.
