The LNB Super League has completed the bracket for its four semifinalists following a decisive day this Sunday, in which the Santo Domingo Leones, San Francisco de Macorís Indios, and Distrito Nacional Titanes sealed their tickets, joining the Santiago Metros, who had previously secured their classification.
The Santo Domingo Leones claimed their spot in the semifinals after defeating the Santiago Metros 104-93 at the Mauricio Báez Club, thus achieving their 13th victory of the season (13-10).
The team coached by Carlos Payano showed a solid team game, placing six players in double figures. Trahson Burrell stood out by contributing 25 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists, while Jayson Valdez came close to a triple-double with 20 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists. Gerardo Suero added 16 points, and Eloy Vargas contributed a double-double of 15 units and 10 rebounds.
For the Metros, who advanced to the semifinals despite the defeat, Brandone Francis led the offense with 23 points, followed by Omar Silverio (19 points and 6 assists) and Adris de León with 15 units.
Galloway guides the Indios to the semifinals
At the Mario Ortega Pavilion, the San Francisco de Macorís Indios overcame the Puerto Plata Marineros 101-93 thanks to a brilliant game by Ramón Galloway, who scored 31 points. With this triumph, the Indios improved their record to 13-10 (36 points) and secured their classification.
Luismal Ferreiras also shone with a double-double of 20 points and 16 rebounds, while Juan Jr Rosario and Miguel Simón added 10 points each. The Marineros (10-13) fought until the end but were eliminated, despite LJ Figueroa’s 20 points and Sydney Curry’s 19.
The quarter scores were 23-27, 29-15, 16-33, and 33-20 in favor of the Indios, who shot 48% from the field, dominated the rebounds (41), and added 16 assists.
Titanes win and confirm their classification
Meanwhile, the Distrito Nacional Titanes defeated the Este Cañeros 93-86 at the Eleoncio Mercedes Sports Center, thus securing their classification with a 13-10 record (36 points).
The team had five players in double figures in scoring, including Richard Bautista, who shone with 13 points, 9 rebounds, and 11 assists, brushing against a triple-double. Jassel Pérez contributed 19 points, Luis David Montero added 16 points and 13 rebounds, Dominique Tham scored 17, and Xavier Reyes scored 10.
For the Cañeros (9-14), who were already eliminated, Antonio Gordon led with 24 points and Bryan Polanco contributed 20.
The Titanes won the first half 48-37, thanks to a dominant second quarter (37-19). In the third period, they extended their lead with an 18-9 run, and although the Cañeros reacted in the final quarter, they failed to reverse the scoreboard.
With these results, the Leones, Indios, and Titanes join the Santiago Metros to complete the semifinalist bracket of the current LNB Super League season.
