Joel Rosario, the first Dominican to be inducted into the United States Horse Racing Hall of Fame, expressed his national pride during his induction speech.
He addressed the audience in both Spanish and English.
The renowned jockey extended his gratitude to all the people who have supported his career, from his beginnings at 14 years old in Dominican Republic to his consolidated 25-year career in United States.

This achievement makes Rosario the eleventh Latin American honored by this institution founded in 1950, which celebrates the most outstanding figures in the history of American horse racing.
José Singer
The Dominican José Singer, owner and breeder of racing horses, was in charge of presenting Rosario at the event.
During his intervention, Singer highlighted the importance that Rosario’s induction represents for horse racing in the Dominican Republic, in the prestigious American museum.
The ceremony, transmitted online for the country through YouTube, was attended by Rosario’s relatives.
The tribute act concluded with Rosario receiving the commemorative plaque of his induction during a ceremony that lasted nearly an hour and a half, and in which also a tribute was paid to trainers, horses, and a historic African American jockey.
