San Antonio de Guerra. – The National Institute of Physical Education (Inefi), in collaboration with the Los Angeles Dodgers Academy, delivered several completely remodeled school courts this Monday in the municipality of San Antonio de Guerra, along with sports equipment to strengthen physical education and recreation in the educational centers of the area.
The delivery ceremony was held at the Mario Amador Álvarez Arts Center, where the executive director of Inefi, Alberto Rodríguez Mella, highlighted the importance of promoting the comprehensive development of students through adequate sports spaces. “We have come here to contribute to sports and physical education in this community,” he expressed.
Rodríguez Mella also recalled that the first school stadium in Guerra was previously built, and emphasized the role played by the Dodgers Academy in youth athletic training, highlighting the work of the president of the National Amateur Baseball Academy, Jesús Negrete.
The “Athletes with Inefi” and “Recreating Myself at School” programs, implemented in collaboration with the Dodgers, seek to promote physical activity, recreation, and the formation of values in the educational community, Rodríguez Mella underlined.
The director of the host center, Ivelisse Cruz, thanked the support provided by Inefi, ensuring that the students will make the most of the renovated facilities and the delivered material.
Also present at the event were the deputy general director of Inefi, Franklin Duval; Inefi advisor and president of the PRM National Sports Front, David Brito; the director of educational district 10-07, Elvis Rodríguez; Major Claudio Pimentel, head of the district School Police; and representatives of parents’ associations and teaching staff of the benefited centers.
In addition to the Mario Amador Álvarez Arts Center, the Camila Ureña, Carmen Dilia Ortiz, Juan Julio Aurelio Blanchard, La Jovita Soriano, Centro Leonor M. Fettz, and Baní Concordia Educational Center schools benefited from these improvements.
