General Ernesto Rodríguez García, Director General of the National Police, announced today a series of appointments aimed at strengthening public safety and improving the supervision of operational and administrative tasks of the institution.
Deployment of Leadership in Operational Areas
Among the appointments, the designation of Colonel Melvyn Antonio Polanco Lebrón as commander of the Operational Department I – Prevention and Pursuit of Invasors of Public and Private Properties – with headquarters in the Central Cibao Regional Directorate stands out. Colonel Polanco Lebrón has been selected for his track record in the fight against urban delinquency and his experience in coordinating special patrols.
Colonel Edward Jesús Díaz Núñez has been appointed regional subdirector of the South Central zone, while Colonel Eddy Bienvenido Manzueta Vásquez will occupy the position of commander of the Operational Department I Los Frailes, also in the Santo Domingo Oriental Regional Directorate. Both military personnel share the goal of intensifying surveillance operations and preventing crimes in their respective regions.
Focus on Internal Protection and Territorial Coordination
Colonel Gregorio Rosario de León will assume the direction of the Internal Protection and Security Area, strengthening internal control measures and the integrity of police processes. Meanwhile, Colonel Limardo Báez Colas will direct the Operational Department I El Almirante in the Santo Domingo Oriental Regional Directorate, while Colonel José M. Rodríguez Reyes will occupy the position of commander of the Operational Department I Azua in the South Central Regional Directorate.
In the Caribbean region, Colonel José Manuel Solís Morillo will be responsible for the Operational Department I Boca Chica, and Lieutenant Colonel Joan Miguel Feliz will command the Operational Department I Monte Plata. In the Central region, Lieutenant Colonel Santiago Lora Almanzar will serve as deputy director of Support and Services, while Lieutenant Colonel Ernesto de León Olivero will assume the leadership of the Operational Department I Elías Piña.
Consolidation of the Operational Structure
The assignment of Lieutenant Colonel Marcos Antonio de León Feliz as commander of the Operational Department I Santo Domingo Zonal East, with headquarters in the Santo Domingo Oriental Regional Directorate, completes the list of appointments. According to General Rodríguez García, these appointments respond to the need to maintain a dynamic operational structure and ensure more effective supervision of preventive and punitive tasks.
The director general emphasized that the new structure will allow for greater proximity to communities, as well as the consolidation of collaboration between different areas of the National Police and other security and justice organizations.
General Rodríguez García concluded his announcement by underscoring the commitment of the National Police to public safety, crime prevention, and the protection of the rights of Dominican citizens.
