Four Dominicans detained for transporting Haitians.

Santiago Rodríguez, RD. – In the framework of the security and migratory control operations maintained by the Army of the Dominican Republic, personnel from the 4th Infantry Brigade, apprehended four Dominican citizens and eight (8) Haitian nationals in irregular migratory status, during an operation carried out in Santiago Rodríguez.

The day took place in the vicinity of the Military Detachment of La Leonor, when the detainees attempted to evade the military control post.

In the intervention, four motorcycles were retained, used for the transportation of undocumented foreigners.

The first motorcycle, Tauro brand, CG200 model, black color, was driven by Luis Rodríguez, who was transporting two (2) Haitian nationals.

Another motorcycle, Z3000 brand, CG150 model, red color, was driven by Ángel Rodríguez, resulting in being detained with two (2) other undocumented individuals.

A third, Súper Gato brand, CG200 model, black color, , driven by Arismendy García, was also detained with two (2) illegal foreigners and another Tauro brand, CG200 model, black color, driven by Enmanuel Rodríguez, transporting two (2) Haitian nationals.

In total, eight (8) Haitian nationals with irregular migratory status were intercepted, of which six are male and two are female.

Both the Dominican drivers and the undocumented foreigners, along with the retained motorcycles, were transferred to the headquarters of the 4th Infantry Brigade of the ERD, to carry out the corresponding legal procedures.
