The Estrellas team has signed free agent pitcher Esmil Rogers, as reported on Sunday by the team’s vice president of operations, Ángel Ovalles.
Rogers will once again wear the uniform of his hometown team, San Pedro de Macorís, marking his fourth stint with the team in his 14-year career in the Dominican League.
In his three previous stints, including the last two championships, he participated in the postseason, having been selected in the reentry draft as a player from a team already eliminated in the Regular Season.
The veteran pitcher posted a 1.32 earned run average (ERA) in three starts with Las Estrellas during the round-robin of the previous season, accumulating 13.2 innings pitched. In the first game, he had to leave due to an injury.
