Elly de la Cruz enters the 20-50 club

Dominican baseball player Elly de la Cruz has added an impressive milestone to his season by entering the exclusive group of players with 20 home runs and 50 stolen bases, while his compatriot Jesús Sánchez showed his power at the plate by hitting the longest home run of the season.

MIAMI 3-10 REDS

Dominican Elly de la Cruz contributed two homers, three runs scored, and three RBIs, leading the Cincinnati Reds to a crushing victory over the Miami Marlins.

Upon reaching his 20th home run of the season and totaling 57 stolen bases, De la Cruz joins the select 20-50 club, sharing honors with Venezuelan Ronald Acuña Jr. In the same game, fellow Dominican Noelvi Marte and Ty France contributed to the scoreboard with home runs.

For the Marlins, Jesús Sánchez stood out with a 480-foot home run, the longest of the season, adding two RBIs. His compatriot Roddery Muñoz (2-6) gave up six runs, four of them earned, in 3.2 innings, taking the loss.

GUARDIANS 6-7 DIAMONDBACKS

With home runs by Ketel Marte and Gabriel Moreno, and a go-ahead run driven in by Eugenio Suárez in the 10th inning, the Arizona Diamondbacks won in extra innings against the Cleveland Guardians.

Geraldo Perdomo contributed with an RBI, while Dominican Justin Martínez (1) secured the save by striking out two batters in one inning. For the Guardians, José Ramírez and Andrés Giménez contributed to the scoreboard.

ROYALS 5-9 RED SOX

Mexican Jarren Duran stood out with three RBIs, while Romy González added a home run, contributing to the Boston Red Sox’s victory over the Kansas City Royals.

Rafael Devers and Ceddanne Rafaela scored one run each for Boston, while Vinnie Pasquantino and Venezuelans Maiker García and Freddy Fermín drove in runs for the Royals.

CUBS 0-3 TWINS

Manuel Margot and Willi Castro led the offense for the Minnesota Twins to defeat the Chicago Cubs.

Jhoan Durán pitched a scoreless inning for the Twins, while for the Cubs, Jorge López contributed with two strikeouts.

CARDINALS 0-6 METS

Sean Manaea and Tyrone Taylor stood out in a solid shutout victory by the New York Mets over the St. Louis Cardinals.

Francisco Álvarez and Francisco Lindor added runs for the Mets, recording a scoreless inning thanks to Edwin Díaz. Nolan Arenado managed a hit for the Cardinals.

NATIONALS 1-4 GIANTS

Matt Chapman and Tyler Fitzgerald led the victory with their home runs, leading the San Francisco Giants to a win against the Washington Nationals.

Camilo Doval closed the game with a perfect save, while Keibert Ruiz scored for the Nationals.

RANGERS 4-3 ASTROS

Josh Smith became the hero by driving in two runs in the 10th inning, allowing the Texas Rangers to overcome the Houston Astros. Corey Seager, Adolis García, and Leody Taveras also contributed to the scoreboard for Texas. For the Astros, José Altuve and Jeremy Peña drove in runs, and Alex Bregman contributed with a home run.
