Dominican Captain Edison Azcona, Expelled for Kicking Spanish Player Cubarsí

Bordeaux (France) – In the final moments of the first half, specifically in the first additional minute, Edison Azcona, who wears the captain’s armband of the Dominican Republic national team, was shown a direct red card after kicking Spanish defender Pau Cubarsí in the groin area while he was on the ground. This reaction from Azcona came after Cubarsí committed a foul against him, using his studs in an aggressive gesture, which resulted in his direct red card expulsion from the field.

This action implies that Azcona will miss the next game of the Dominican Republic, scheduled for Tuesday, July 30 against Uzbekistan at the Paris Princes Park.
