Dominican Athlete Takes Third Place in the World Athletics Championship

The 19-year-old Dominican sprinter, Liranyi Alonso, managed to position herself in third place in the World Athletics Championship and impress during her debut by running the 100 meters flat in 11.26 seconds.

Alonso, from La Vega, despite participating with outstanding athletes, showed temperament and speed from the start, remaining at all times in the leading group, in the championship that took place this Saturday in Japan.

World Athletics Championship is the highest international athletics competition. It is organized by World Athletics​ since 1983; the first three editions were held every four years, but from then on, it became biennial.
