In a case that has shaken the Santo Domingo community, a woman identified as Esmailin Flores filed a complaint against her partner after being attacked inside her residence. The aggression occurred on the night of August 8, when Flores returned from work, bathed, had dinner, and went to bed with her daughter before a power outage in the area occurred.
After the power outage, the two moved the bed to the living room. According to the complainant, her partner began speaking to her in an unusual and sarcastic manner, asking her why she was asleep. Flores claims that the girl, sensing the tension, shouted to alert her. The woman recalls that “I didn’t even see him when he was already on top of me” and that she received several injuries caused by a cutting object.
“Please, have mercy, have pity,” Flores pleaded while trying to stop the aggression. After the attack, she managed to leave the residence with her daughter and seek protection. The complainant maintains that her relationship with the accused lasted 13 years and requests that the authorities conduct the investigations necessary to determine the corresponding responsibilities.
The Prosecution and the National Police of the Dominican Republic are waiting for the details of the case to initiate the proceedings. To date, the available information comes exclusively from the complainant’s testimony.
