At a memorable event held last Monday, the Association of Sports Chroniclers of Santo Domingo (ACD) elected and recognized the efforts of several of its members during the recent year 2023.
Led by journalist Américo Celado, the association also paid tribute to the successful careers of veterans Hugo López Morrobel and Ramón Rodríguez in the field of sports.
These two distinguished individuals have invested their lives in sports journalism, acting with courage and truthfulness, and have dedicated their existence to the advancement of Dominican Olympic sports, giving themselves completely for the well-being of the country’s youth.
Morrobel, with a prestigious career in newspapers such as Listín Diario and El Día in Sports Editing roles, and Ramón Rodríguez, who has dedicated endless hours at Listín Diario and as part of the press team of the Dominican Olympic Committee.
Through their participation in regional, Pan American, and Olympic events, their work has been exceptional and exemplary.
Therefore, I congratulate the ACD for recognizing these legends of sports journalism in the Dominican Republic, offering them a warm applause and congratulations, as a colleague and brother in so many events at the national and international levels.

My public admiration is hereby expressed.
Awardees include William Aish, Print Journalist; José Luis Mendoza, Commentator of the Year; Orlando Gómez, Broadcaster of the Year; Yancen Pujols, Social Media Journalist; Martín Rodríguez, in Television News; Adelaida Hernández, who received the Marcia Facundo award for best female sports journalist; and Cristian Lara, Photojournalist.

It is a personal honor to congratulate Yancen Pujols, José Luis Mendoza, and Orlando Gómez, whom I have had the privilege of knowing since the beginning of their careers.
