The family of Rosanni Díaz, a Dominican who died after a cosmetic surgery in Santiago, has requested an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the procedure. Díaz, who had been in Dominican Republic for 18 days after arriving from the United States, lost her life after experiencing complications during her recovery at a clinic in Villa González and being transferred to the Metropolitan Hospital of Santiago (HOMS). The family has doubts about Díaz’s health condition before the procedure and the care she received after the emergency arose.
Question the prior health condition
Rosanni’s mother expressed doubts about the decision to undergo the procedure, as her daughter had chronic anemia, according to information she received later. The woman does not know what medical evaluation was performed before the intervention and believes it is necessary to determine whether that condition posed any risk to the procedure.
Different accounts regarding treatment compliance
Another close associate of Rosanni offered a different explanation about the compliance with the prescribed treatment during recovery. According to his account, the patient was instructed to use anticoagulant medication and special stockings, but allegedly did not fully follow those instructions. The companion claimed that he keeps in the apartment some vials that, according to him, were not used.

The family hopes that a review of medical records, studies conducted before the surgery, postoperative instructions, and other documents will allow the precise determination of the circumstances surrounding the case. It also remains pending to establish what happened during the transfer between the Villa González medical center and HOMS, as well as to determine what clinical information was communicated to their relatives.
