The National Drug Council (CND) has intensified its campaign against the use of electronic cigarettes, known as vapers, among Dominican children, adolescents, and youth, in response to the adverse health effects generated by these devices.
A music video as a prevention tool
As part of the initiative, the institution released a music video aimed at raising awareness about the risks of consuming these devices. The piece was created in collaboration with merengue artist and composer Nelson de la Olla, who put his talent at the service of the prevention message, seeking to connect directly with new generations through music.
The audiovisual was recorded in the Capotillo sector of Santo Domingo, under the coordination of the Institute for the Development of Arts and Education (INDARTE), which contributed the work of community talents and reinforced the role of art as an educational tool.
A call to families, schools, and communities
CND President Alejandro Abreu led the announcement of the campaign, with which the institution reaffirms its commitment to promoting innovative prevention actions and healthy lifestyles. The agency made a direct call to families, educational centers, and community organizations to join the effort and protect the health of Dominican youth in the face of the spread of vaping.
