Baseball in the Dominican Republic prepares to compete in the Premier 12 tournament; the 12 top teams will compete

Santo Domingo.- The main sport of the Dominican Republic faces a new international challenge with the Premier 12 tournament, which brings together the top 12 baseball teams in the world, starting on November 13 and concluding on Sunday 24.

After four weeks of intense preparation, the Dominican Republic’s selection is ready to compete and “fight” for supremacy in the tournament.

The success of any team resides in its technical staff, with César Martín at the forefront as manager. He is accompanied by Ervin Santana as pitching coach, Ronny Paulino as batting coach, Ramón Santiago in third base and as bench coach, Anderson Hernández in first base, Ramón Martínez as assistant pitching and bench coach, Wellington Castillo as special coach, José Canó managing the bullpen and Danny Solano as Bench Coach.

The Dominican Baseball Federation, with the support of the Panorama Media Group, initially concentrated around 50 players in a pre-selection of several weeks, from which the most outstanding ones were chosen to represent Dominican baseball.

The team includes pitchers Alex Colomé, Luis Vargas, Robert Corniel, Héctor Pérez, Pedro Fernández, Jorge Juan, Diego Castillo, Wily Peralta, Gerald Ogando, Franklin Kilome, Joelys Rodríguez, Dionys Rodríguez, Víctor López and Henry Henry.

Catchers will be Frank Rodríguez, Julio Rodríguez and Randy Florentino.

The player roster consists of Rainer Núñez, Michael de León, Kelvin Gutiérrez, José Devers, Allen Hanson and Andretty Cordero.

The group of outfielders is completed by Pedro González, Ricardo Céspedes, Luis Mieses, Arismendy Alcántara and Micker Adolfo.

Next Wednesday, the team will travel to China-Taipei to begin its participation in the tournament on November 13 against Cuba, followed by games against China-Taipei, Australia, Korea, and concluding the regular round against Japan on the 18th.

All games will be broadcast by the Panorama Media Group and through its extensive social media platform.

VTV Television and the 96.9 FM station will retransmit all the Dominican Republic’s matches live, ensuring that no one misses the team’s highlights in the tournament.

The press team, with a distinguished experience, is led by José Antonio Mena, and is completed by Víctor Báez, Manuel Acevedo and JuanFrank Kranwinkel. The production is handled by VTV Television and the Panorama Media Group.
