The president of the Association of Hotels of Santo Domingo (AHSD), Gina Eli, announced the celebration of the sixth edition of SDQ MICE 2026, which will take place from September 21 to 23, 2026 at the Hotel El Embajador, a Royal Hideaway Hotel, consolidating itself as the main platform for promotion and commercialization of meeting tourism, incentives, congresses and events (MICE) of the Dominican Republic.
The 2026 edition will once again have the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic (MITUR) as a strategic ally and main sponsor, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening the MICE segment and positioning Santo Domingo as one of the main destinations for the celebration of events in the Caribbean.
“SDQ MICE has become a strategic platform to connect the Dominican offer with the main international buyers. In this sixth edition, we take a step further towards the consolidation of Santo Domingo as a leading destination for meetings, incentives, congresses and conventions, betting on a high-level agenda and on the generation of businesses that will translate into concrete results for our hotels and for the entire national tourism sector”, expressed Gina Eli, president of the Association of Hotels of Santo Domingo.
As the main innovation of this edition, SDQ MICE 2026 establishes a strategic alliance with MICE Consulting, an international firm that will be in charge of selecting and qualifying the international buyers, ensuring the participation of a highly specialized profile and with a high potential for business for the destination. In addition, the event will incorporate the participation of incentive houses from the United States, significantly expanding commercial opportunities for Dominican suppliers.
The technical direction of the event will be in charge of Elizabeth Tovar, who will work in close coordination with the Executive Direction of the Association of Hotels of Santo Domingo, headed by Fabeth Martínez, for the development of the program, the articulation of business meetings and the execution of an agenda aligned with the best international practices of the MICE segment.
The program has been designed to enhance the experience of buyers in the destination, allowing them to know firsthand the hotel infrastructure, event spaces, air connectivity, gastronomic, cultural and entertainment offer of Santo Domingo. The objective is to increase the conversion of business opportunities and strengthen the capture of congresses, conventions, incentive trips and corporate meetings for the Dominican Republic.
As part of the event experience, the Santo Domingo Tourism Cluster will be responsible for coordinating the cultural agenda, including visits and experiences in the Colonial City, showing the historical, patrimonial and cultural value of the capital as one of the main differentiating attributes of the destination. The program will also include a post-tour to Punta Cana, providing international buyers with the opportunity to know the diversity of the country’s tourist offer.
