The Águilas Cibaeñas will start the flight towards the corona 23 with an optional Early Camp, which will begin this Monday at 9:00 AM at Estadio Cibao, home of the 22‑time national champions.
Although the Early Camp is optional, all players on the club roster can participate, with the goal of starting work early in order to reach the highest level of conditioning. This camp is ideal for those players who had little participation in the summer or whose teams finished a while ago.
On the 22nd of this month, that is, a week later, the full Águilas Camp will open, where the presence of all players in the country is expected.
As part of the preparation, the team has scheduled several exhibition games, aiming at the tournament dedicated to Juan Marichal, which will begin on October 15.
The team’s technical staff will lead the trainings until the arrival of manager Luis “Pipe” Urueta, who still has commitments in the United States. It will be his first time coaching the Águilas Cibaeñas. Urueta, a successful leader in Dominican fall‑winter baseball, will take the reins of the team for the first time.
Currently, the Águilas have several players in Major League Baseball, while those who were in Mexico have already finished their participation. The Águilas roster is added to by 16 new prospects who were selected last Wednesday in the Rookie Draft.
Baseball Operations Vice President René Francisco and General Manager Gian Guzmán are working on shaping the team, talking with local players and signing reinforcements.
