Leones del Escogido, national bicampeones, officially launched their 2026-2027 season with the goal of conquering the 19th crown of the franchise and extending their dominance in the Dominican winter baseball. The launch event was held at Víctor Kitchen & Bar de Ágora Mall, where players, executives, technical staff members, and sports journalists gathered.
The president of the Escogido Baseball Club, Eduardo Najri, highlighted the importance of the commitment that the team assumes in search of a new championship and emphasized the legacy built by the franchise in recent years. „This activity marks the beginning of the fight for the 19th crown. It marks the beginning of the 2026-2027 season. Since 2009, we have built great results with six national championships, including two bicampeonatos, and three Caribbean Series. The legacy lives and is respected“, Najri expressed.
Objectives and plans for the season
Among the players present were captain Jimmy Paredes, Erik González, José Marmolejos, Sócrates Brito, Víctor Santos, Michael De la Cruz, Jonathan Guzmán, and Ángel Sánchez. General Manager Carlos Peña thanked the board of directors for allowing him to debut in that position last season, where he built the team that ended up conquering the national championship.
„I’m giving my best because it’s a great task to safeguard this legacy. Last year, we cried when we won the championship, and that shows how much this jersey hurts and how committed we are“, Peña indicated. The red organization presented the plans and objectives for the new campaign, which include elevating the feelings of each fan and offering an integral experience in the games.
